Part of the PaintEasy Paint by Numbers Series – Today on Canvas. This piece began as a meeting of two climates: icy violet light from the north and warm cathedral gold rising from a humid night. The Vikings vs Saints search surge supplied the starting signal, but the final canvas is an original stadium dream—NFL-inspired football art with no official logo, uniform, helmet design or player likeness.
Cold sky, warm city
Two unbranded helmet forms face one another across the field. One carries a simple Nordic-knot rhythm; the other echoes stained glass and wrought iron. Above them, green and violet light curves through the sky, while the lower half stays grounded in black, gold and deep blue. I wanted the rivalry to feel regional and atmospheric rather than literal, something a football fan could display without turning the room into a team store.
Where the painting settles best
The broad aurora shapes are relaxing to block in, and the helmet edges introduce just enough precision for an EASY-ADVANCED session. Work from the upper sky downward, let the dark stadium dry, then place the gold architecture and field lights last. The finished piece makes a handsome football gift for a media room, home office or narrow wall where the purple-gold contrast can catch evening lamps.

Tips for Painting
Work from the aurora and night sky down to the stadium and helmet shapes. Use the smallest brush for the helmet patterns, architectural edges and field lights. Let the dark base colors dry before adding gold highlights, and keep paint lids closed between sessions.
Match each paint pot to the printed number, paint one section at a time, and clean your brush when changing colors. Try it yourself. It doesn’t need to be perfect.
