Look closer: this bright orange-red fish carries two tiny houses, blue and golden trees, and a garden of flowers across its body. A yellow face, patterned tail and two unexpected black legs give Whimsical Folk Art Fish its playful character. The soft cream background lets those bold colors stand out, making this a cheerful painting to create and display.
This 40 × 40 cm paint by numbers kit brings an imaginative twist to the underwater theme. If you enjoy sea-inspired subjects with a little personality, explore our ocean paint by numbers collection for more ideas.
Canvas dimensions: 40 × 40 cm / approximately 15.7 × 15.7 in
Artwork format: 1:1 square
Start with the larger background areas, then work through the fish’s colorful body before moving on to the houses, flowers and finer patterns. Use a small brush and light pressure for narrow sections. Let each layer dry and add another coat wherever printed numbers remain visible.
No previous painting experience is needed, although the smallest details reward a little patience. For a first project with broader, simpler areas, browse our paint by numbers kits for beginners and choose a design that suits your pace.
The unexpected combination of a fish, a miniature village and a flower garden makes this kit a thoughtful choice for someone who enjoys quirky animals, colorful interiors or hands-on hobbies. We believe a blank canvas shouldn’t be intimidating. At PaintEasy, we stripped away the friction but kept all the authenticity. There’s no need to worry about color theory or watering down your pigments—we’ve preserved the rich, raw texture of the paint so every stroke feels intentional. Just follow the numbers, trust your intuition, and let your space reflect an effortless aesthetic.
Some weekends call for loud music and crowded rooms; others call for a quiet corner and a brush in hand. PaintEasy is designed for the latter. We create kits that don’t just kill time, but elevate your space. Whether it's a single statement piece or building your own multi-piece collection, we make it impossibly easy to curate a gallery wall that looks exactly like you.
A satisfying painting starts with dependable materials and a clear numbered guide. PaintEasy kits use numbered acrylic paints and high-quality cotton canvas, helping beginners build the image one section at a time. Results vary by painting style and pace, so take your time and enjoy the process.
1 — Paint by Numbers Tips
Keep paint pots closed when not in use, rinse brushes between colors, and work from top to bottom if that helps prevent smudging. If the canvas has light transit creases, place it face down on a clean towel and carefully iron the reverse side on low heat without steam.
2 — How to Make Paint by Numbers More Realistic
Blend neighboring colors while the paint is slightly wet, add a second coat where printed numbers remain visible, and use small highlights or shadows only after the main areas are dry. Results vary with technique and painting style.
3 — Where to Start
Choose a design and size that match your available time. Each PaintEasy kit uses numbered acrylic paints and a high-quality cotton canvas. Framed options are stretched on a wooden frame.
4 — How to Store Your Kit
Close each paint pot firmly, clean and dry brushes after use, and keep the canvas flat or loosely rolled in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
5 — How Long Does It Take?
Completion time depends on canvas size, design detail, and painting pace. Short sessions over several days can make the project a calm, focused creative activity.
