Turn Favorite Foods into Art

Food and Drink Paint by Numbers for Every Taste

Our food and drink paint by numbers kits transform bakery windows, colorful desserts, café drinks, fresh fruit and familiar meals into guided painting projects. Each numbered section corresponds to a paint color, allowing the composition to develop gradually without drawing the food, glassware or table setting first.

The collection includes traditional single-canvas paintings, compact Mini Sets, multi-panel artwork and selected designs for younger painters. Some products focus on one recognizable subject, while others create a complete bakery, café, picnic or dining scene.

Choose according to the size of the numbered sections, number of objects and amount of surface detail. A single slice of cake against a simple background may be approachable, while a bakery display containing breads, pastries, signs and glass reflections can require considerably more precision.

Explore Food Paintings by Subject

Bakery and Bread Paintings

Bread and bakery scenes bring warmth, texture and familiar everyday details to food artwork. Subjects may include loaves, baguettes, croissants, cinnamon rolls, muffins, doughnuts and shelves filled with pastries.

A single loaf or croissant can provide broad areas of golden brown, cream and warm shadow. Developed bakery scenes may introduce display cases, handwritten signs, windows, plates and several baked goods with different textures.

Bread paintings work particularly well for kitchens, breakfast areas and café-inspired interiors. They can also be grouped with coffee artwork to create a coordinated breakfast or bakery wall.

Cakes and Desserts

Cakes, cupcakes, tarts, cookies and decorated desserts create colorful compositions with strong shapes and recognizable layers. Frosting, berries, sprinkles, chocolate and fruit toppings can add bright focal details.

Dessert paintings range from single cake portraits to tables filled with several sweet treats. A centered cake with a simple background may be suitable for a beginner, while a detailed bakery counter or celebration table may contain many small decorations.

Look at the frosting pattern, topping details and surrounding objects before choosing. A large cake is not automatically easy if it contains individual flowers, fruit, candles or repeated piping.

American Favorites and Diner Food

Familiar American food subjects can bring a playful, nostalgic mood to a kitchen, dining room, game room or casual restaurant-inspired space.

Look for artwork inspired by hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza, pancakes, doughnuts, milkshakes, ice cream and classic diner breakfasts as the collection continues to grow.

These foods are especially effective in colorful, vintage and illustrated styles because their silhouettes are immediately recognizable. A burger with separated layers or a hot dog against a plain background may be approachable, while a full diner table containing drinks, condiments, baskets and checked patterns will require more detailed brushwork.

Product availability changes as new designs are added or sold out, so browse the current collection to see which American food subjects are available.

Breakfast and Café Scenes

Breakfast artwork combines food with the relaxed atmosphere of a café or weekend morning. Current designs may feature pancakes, pastries, croissants, cinnamon rolls, coffee, espresso, cappuccino, eggs, toast and fruit.

Coffee and pastry combinations create warm neutral palettes, while pancakes, berries and juice introduce brighter colors. Café interiors can add tables, windows, signs and outdoor street details.

If you prefer a shorter project, look for one cup and one pastry with a clear background. A complete breakfast spread or busy café scene will usually contain more small sections.

Pizza, Pasta and Savory Meals

Savory food paintings offer an alternative to sweet bakery and dessert artwork. Subjects can include pasta, lasagna, pizza, sandwiches, salads, picnic meals and colorful plates arranged for sharing.

Pasta and noodle paintings often use curved lines and closely packed ingredients. Pizza designs may contain repeated toppings, while lasagna and sandwiches rely on layered edges and contrasting colors.

Look for a design with one clearly defined plate when you want a more focused project. Restaurant tables and picnic spreads usually require more time because several dishes, utensils and background objects must remain distinct.

Asian and Global Comfort Foods

The collection also includes food inspired by cuisines beyond the classic American café. Current subjects may include rice noodles, hot pot, sushi, curry rice, braised dishes and other complete meals.

These paintings often combine several ingredients, bowls, chopsticks, steam and decorative tableware. Bright garnishes and contrasting sauces can create a lively finished canvas, but closely arranged ingredients may require a fine brush.

Choose according to the composition and difficulty rather than assuming one cuisine or dish will always be easier than another.

Fruit Paint by Numbers

Fruit paintings use natural shapes and strong colors that can suit both modern kitchens and traditional still-life displays. Subjects include strawberries, blueberries, cherries, peaches, pomegranates, citrus fruit, tropical fruit and mixed fruit bowls.

A single fruit or small group against a plain background may be approachable for a beginner. Market displays, patterned tablecloths and bowls containing many different fruits will generally require more detail.

Fruit also appears in cocktails, desserts, breakfast scenes and Mediterranean artwork, creating useful connections between several parts of the collection.

Ice Cream and Sweet Treats

Ice cream, milkshakes, doughnuts, cookies, candy and frozen desserts create cheerful artwork with playful color combinations. These subjects can work particularly well in retro diner, summer, pop-art and illustrated styles.

A single ice cream cone with broad color areas can be relatively approachable. A sundae containing several scoops, syrup, fruit, whipped cream and decorative toppings may contain more narrow sections than its simple outline first suggests.

Sweet-treat paintings can be displayed individually or combined into a colorful dessert-themed wall.

Coffee and Hot Drinks

Coffee artwork includes espresso, cappuccino, latte-style drinks, café cups, pastries and morning table scenes. Depending on the design, the finished painting may feel modern, rustic, European or warmly nostalgic.

Coffee paintings often use brown, cream and terracotta shades. Pale foam and reflected light may need a second dry layer if the printed number remains visible.

Compact coffee designs are also available in our 15×20cm Mini Paint by Numbers Sets.

Cocktails and Colorful Drinks

Cocktail artwork combines glass shapes, fruit garnishes, transparent liquid and saturated colors. Subjects include martinis, whiskey, tropical drinks, citrus cocktails and festive seasonal beverages.

Browse our cocktail paint by numbers kits for drink-focused designs ranging from individual glasses to complete bar and table arrangements.

Cocktail paintings are not automatically easy. Glass rims, stems, ice cubes, reflections and small garnishes may require controlled brushwork even when the background is relatively simple.

Choose Food Art by Visual Style

Realistic Food Still Life

Realistic paintings emphasize texture, lighting and the appearance of ingredients. Bread crust, glossy fruit, melting ice cream and reflective glassware may be built from several neighboring shades.

These designs are a good choice when you enjoy careful color changes and want the finished canvas to resemble traditional food photography or still-life painting.

Vintage Diner and Café Art

Vintage food artwork may use diner counters, retro signs, checked surfaces, old-fashioned packaging shapes and warm nostalgic colors.

Burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes, coffee, doughnuts and pie are especially well suited to this style. Avoid choosing based only on the familiar subject, because lettering, tiles and repeated patterns can add considerable detail.

Colorful and Modern Food Art

Modern food paintings may simplify a dish into bold shapes, unusual colors and decorative backgrounds. Pop-inspired cakes, fruit, cocktails and diner food can become bright focal points for kitchens, studios or entertainment spaces.

Strong colors do not determine the difficulty. A graphic design with large separated sections may be approachable, while a colorful collage containing many ingredients can still require precision.

Cute and Illustrated Food

Illustrated food artwork may include smiling desserts, playful café scenes, cartoon drinks and imaginative food characters. Selected designs are created for younger painters, while others use a cute style but still contain adult-level detail.

Check the intended audience and difficulty on the individual listing rather than assuming every cartoon design is a children’s product.

Bakery, Restaurant and Table Scenes

Developed scenes place the food inside a bakery, café, restaurant, kitchen or outdoor meal. These compositions can convey more atmosphere than a single food portrait.

They may also contain windows, furniture, signs, tableware and several different dishes. Choose these designs when you enjoy discovering small details across the canvas and want a longer project.

Choose the Right Product Format

Single-Canvas Food Paintings

A traditional single canvas provides one complete food or drink composition to paint and display. Designs range from centered fruit and dessert portraits to developed bakery, restaurant and dining scenes.

Canvas dimensions, orientation, difficulty and frame choices vary between products. Check the selected listing and variant before ordering.

15×20cm Food and Drink Mini Sets

Our Mini Paint by Numbers Sets include coordinating groups of small food and drink artworks. Current themes include bread and pastries, cakes and sweets, coffee, breakfast, fruit, cocktails and Mediterranean food.

Each 15×20cm Mini Set canvas is paired with two brushes and one numbered acrylic paint set. The number of canvases included varies by product.

A Mini Set can be useful when you prefer compact projects or want to display several related foods together. However, a smaller canvas is not automatically easier when it contains detailed toppings, lettering or narrow glass edges.

PaintEasy Mini Set paints are water-dilutable. Follow the instructions provided with the selected product.

Three-Panel Food Artwork

Selected food and drink designs use three coordinating canvases to create a larger display. Themes may include coffee and cake, summer desserts, wine, fruit and Mediterranean table scenes.

Browse our 3-panel paint by numbers collection to compare available compositions.

A triptych requires completing three separate canvases, so consider the total amount of painting rather than the size of one panel alone. Confirm the combined dimensions and spacing before planning the display.

Select the Right Difficulty

Food Paint by Numbers for Beginners

Beginner-friendly food paintings generally feature one or two clearly defined subjects, larger numbered sections and a relatively simple background.

Fruit, bread, coffee cups, doughnuts, ice cream cones and graphic food illustrations can make approachable first projects when their shapes are clearly separated.

Browse paint by numbers for beginners to compare food designs with other beginner-friendly subjects.

Do not choose by canvas size alone. A large bakery display may be more challenging than a smaller painting containing one bold dessert.

Medium and Advanced Food Paintings

More detailed designs may include several dishes, layered ingredients, café interiors, transparent glass, reflective metal, decorated cakes or closely packed fruit.

These paintings reward patience around garnishes, labels, patterned tableware and repeated details. Choose the difficulty level that matches how much fine brushwork you currently enjoy.

Food Paint by Numbers for Kids

Selected food paintings use friendly characters, recognizable shapes and broader color areas intended for younger painters. Popular subjects may include cupcakes, ice cream, fruit, breakfast food and playful kitchen scenes.

Visit our paint by numbers for kids to compare age-guided formats and subjects.

Not every bright or cartoon-style food painting is intended for children. Parents should check the stated audience, product format and difficulty before ordering.

Tips for Painting Food and Drink Details

Complete the Numbered Base Colors First

Follow the printed sections before adding optional texture or highlights. Completing the intended colors first helps preserve the shadows, reflections and relationships between ingredients.

Once the base painting is dry, you can add a limited number of subtle strokes to bread crust, frosting, fruit or foam if desired.

Build Bread and Pastry Texture Gradually

Bread, croissants and pastries often contain neighboring shades of cream, gold and brown. Paint each numbered area first and allow it to dry.

Optional texture can then be added with a small number of light strokes following the shape of the crust or pastry layers. Avoid covering the complete surface with extra marks.

Paint Frosting and Pale Desserts in Dry Layers

White frosting, cream, foam and pale cake sections may not cover printed numbers completely with one coat.

Apply one even layer and let it dry fully before adding a second controlled coat. Repeated brushing over partially dry acrylic paint can disturb the surface.

Keep Burger, Sandwich and Cake Layers Distinct

Layered foods rely on clear boundaries between bread, fillings, frosting and toppings. Use the tip of a fine brush near these edges and avoid carrying a dark color into a small pale section.

If paint crosses a boundary, let it dry before reshaping the edge with the correct neighboring color.

Paint Glassware Before Adding Optional Highlights

Complete all numbered sections of a glass, drink and background before adding extra reflected light. This preserves the intended structure of the glass rim, stem, liquid and surrounding objects.

Once dry, a minimal amount of pale paint can be used for selected highlights. Too many added white lines can make the glass appear separate from the rest of the composition.

Work Through Repeated Details in Groups

Sprinkles, berries, pizza toppings, windows, labels and table patterns can be easier to manage when completed one color or one area at a time.

Do not replace the numbered sections with random dots. Keeping repeated details organized helps the finished subject remain readable.

Keep Acrylic Paint Pots Closed

Acrylic paint begins drying when exposed to air. Open only the color you are using when practical and close each lid firmly afterward.

For regular acrylic kits, follow the product instructions and use a compatible acrylic thinner when required. Do not automatically add water because paint formulations can vary.

Only use water for dilution when the selected product specifically identifies the paint as water-dilutable.

Additional brushes and painting supplies are available in our paint by numbers accessories collection.

Display Food Artwork in Your Home

Food and drink paintings are natural choices for kitchens, breakfast areas, dining rooms, coffee stations, home bars and casual entertainment spaces.

Bakery and coffee paintings can create a warm morning atmosphere, while colorful cocktails or retro diner food may suit a brighter contemporary room. Fruit, pasta and table scenes can also be combined into a coordinated culinary gallery wall.

Check the finished dimensions and orientation before ordering a frame or planning the arrangement. Frame choices and included components vary between products.

Find Something You Would Enjoy Painting

Choose a food subject you already associate with a favorite place, season or memory. A bakery window may recall a weekend morning, while a burger, milkshake or ice cream painting can create a more playful and nostalgic result.

Then compare the background, number of objects and amount of detail. The best choice is not necessarily the most complicated painting, but the one whose colors and subject will keep you interested throughout the project.

To compare food artwork with every other subject, browse all PaintEasy paint by numbers kits.

Food and Drink Paint by Numbers FAQs

What subjects are included in the Food and Drink collection?

The collection includes bread, pastries, cakes, desserts, coffee, cocktails, fruit, breakfast scenes, pasta, noodles, salads, sushi, picnic food and other culinary subjects. Availability changes as products are added or sold out.

Does the collection include American food paintings?

Selected designs feature familiar comfort food, desserts and diner-inspired subjects. Artwork based on burgers, hot dogs, french fries, pizza, doughnuts, pancakes, milkshakes and ice cream may be added or expanded as the collection grows.

Are food paint by numbers kits suitable for beginners?

Selected products are suitable for beginners. Look for one clear subject, larger numbered areas and a simple background. Bakery displays, restaurant interiors and tables containing several dishes may require more precision.

What makes a food painting difficult?

Small toppings, decorated frosting, layered ingredients, glass reflections, lettering, patterned tableware and multiple dishes can increase the difficulty. Canvas size alone is not a reliable indicator.

Are there food paint by numbers kits for adults and kids?

Yes. The collection includes designs for adults, beginners and younger painters. Check the intended audience and difficulty on each listing because not every colorful or illustrated food design is a children’s product.

How can I paint transparent glasses and drinks?

Complete the numbered glass, liquid and background sections first. Once dry, use a fine brush for the rim, stem and selected highlights without covering the intended color transitions.

How should I paint white frosting or coffee foam?

Apply one even coat and let it dry fully. If the printed number remains visible, add a second controlled layer rather than repeatedly brushing over partially dry paint.
